WOODSTOCK, Va. — Seven Bends State Park has launched a new kayak rental program, providing visitors without personal watercraft a way to explore the North Fork of the Shenandoah River by paddling themselves. Vehicles can rent a single 9‑foot kayak for $25, which includes a paddle, adult and youth life jacket and a whistle. Rentals are available daily beginning at 6 a.m. at Hollingsworth Access and must be returned to Lupton Access by 8 p.m., weather and river conditions permitting. Shuttle service between access points is not provided. Reservations may be made up to one week in advance or are available on a first‑come, first‑served basis via reservevaparks.com.
Park Manager Tom Stevens said, “The Seven Bends area of the North Fork of the Shenandoah River is a peaceful and picturesque setting, perfect for paddlers of all skill levels. With rentals available on-site, it’s easier than ever for our visitors to get out on the water.”
