WARREN COUNTY, Va. — Deputies with the Warren County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Front Royal man after a high-speed pursuit through Warren and Shenandoah counties on Aug. 21, authorities said.
Deputies attempted to stop a vehicle driven by Xavier Roy, 30, who was wanted on two felony failure-to-appear warrants, near the 200 block of West Duck Street, according to the sheriff’s office. Roy refused to stop and led officers on a chase along Forest Hill Drive and Strasburg Road, reaching speeds of more than 120 mph and endangering other motorists.
Sheriff’s officials said spike strips were deployed on Interstate 66, disabling the vehicle. Roy fled on foot but was quickly taken into custody. A search revealed suspected cocaine.
Roy was transported to RSW Regional Jail and charged with felony eluding, reckless driving, driving on a suspended license, destruction of property and possession of a Schedule I/II controlled substance, in addition to the outstanding warrants. He is being held without bond.
