10:30 AM – Grand Story Time. For ages 0-6. Come hear a grandparent read a few stories, say some nursery rhymes, and do a free form craft.

10:15 AM – Music & Movement for Babies (ages 0-23 months).
11:15 AM – Music & Movement for Toddlers (ages 2-5). Join our fun and joyful time with your little ones as we listen to music while learning some basic movements and multisensory activities designed to delight your baby or toddler.
Tuesday, July 7
10:30 AM – Time Capsule Ceremony. Join us for a ceremony to highlight everyone’s time capsule, sponsored by the Front Royal United Methodist Church! We will discuss what you decided to put in yours, talk about how the world has changed in the last 25 years and predict how it may change in the next 25 years. The Warren County Heritage Society and the library will also talk about various time capsules currently buried, or dug up, in Front Royal. Then we will inter our capsules in totes to be sealed and stored until 2051!

10:00 AM – Trail Buddies. For ages 2-6, with a parent. Join us and Warren County Parks & Recreation at Rockland Park. Ready for an adventure in nature and creativity? Explore our park trail and learn about learn about organisms that can remain dormant for a long while, such as waterbears. Each child will receive a Rose of Jericho plant. Registration is required.
Saturday, July 11
11:00 AM – Chess. For ages 10-18. Ready to make your next move? Whether you’re new to chess, looking to sharpen your strategy, or just want to enjoy a fun game with friends, join us at Samuels Public Library! All skill levels are welcome! Registration is required.
2:30 PM – Colonial Lights. For ages 8-14. Create a beeswax candle and learn the various ways the colonials lit their world! Registration is required.

Friday, July 17
2:00 PM – Girl Who Cried Dragon. Fun for the family! Bo loves spending her days in the meadow caring for her sheep, until the sheep start disappearing! Journey with our young shepherdess as she travels far from her village home on a quest to find her missing sheep. Hammered dulcimer music evokes a soundscape of the middle ages and handcrafted puppets bring to life all the creatures that Bo encounters on her quest. In the end, she unearths a surprising truth beyond her imagination.

Paw for Reading is a program where people read aloud to therapy dogs, which helps improve their reading skills, confidence, and attitudes toward reading. This program provides a non-judgmental and stress-free environment, as the dogs are calm, attentive listeners who don’t correct mistakes, making it less intimidating for children. Bring your own book or use one of ours! Registration is required.
2:30 PM – Ancient Artifact Builders. For ages 6-11. Become an archaeologist for a day—discover ancient secrets, create your own artifact, and imagine the story behind its maker. What will your artifact reveal about the people of the past? Registration is required.
